One of my considerations for my website is achieving a clean and minimalist look. Designing the elements and functionalities of the webpage to be intuitive is an effective approach. In arranging elements, I primarily focus on their spatial awareness and tidiness. Upon entering the website, visitors are greeted with a large photograph I captured, serving as the background image, occupying almost the entire screen. This is to reflect the theme of photography. The chosen photo depicts trees in shadow against a shining lake surface in sunlight, emphasizing the contrast between light and shadow. The silhouette of the trees naturally frames the image, providing a perfect space for placing the title in the center. For the navigation bar, I opted for a style with large spaced-out font, positioned harmoniously within the frame of the tree shadows. Consistent style and format contribute to an overall clean appearance.

On the homepage, I also experimented with creating borders to encapsulate my content. I selected six photos to serve as the upper and lower boundaries, creating a transition from the top title to the textual content. Another emphasis is on the visual effects brought by contrast. Black text on a white background or vice versa allows viewers to quickly capture key points. Additionally, I aimed to instill a sense of exploration in my website. Each entry in the article list includes a preview snippet, allowing viewers to grasp the essence of the content while browsing. This presentation is particularly effective for introducing European blog posts, arousing viewers’ interest through cover images and preview text. For instance, a landscape photo serves as the cover image, accompanied by a snippet indicating it was taken in Stockholm. This setup enables viewers to gain insights into the city by clicking on the post. As for my posts, I’ve chosen to disable all comment options, further contributing to a streamlined interface.

My website design aims to create a seamless and immersive experience for visitors interested in travel and photography. Through strategic placement of elements, such as utilizing captivating imagery and intuitive navigation, I strive to convey the essence of my adventures and evoke a sense of exploration. The minimalist approach, coupled with attention to detail in layout and presentation, ensures a clean and harmonious aesthetic. By prioritizing visual impact and ease of navigation, I hope to engage and inspire my audience to embark on their own journeys of discovery.
